Humm does not allow Best Deal 4 U to use their automated system (including the use of their app), they have forced us on a manual application process called the PEV process (Pre-Entry Verification). We have made several attempts to contact them into removing us from this system but they are not changing their minds, if you wish to contact them to confirm this you may need to talk to several phone representatives as we are one of very few stores that are on this system. They say this system was created to prevent fraud, and we realise this process seems invasive (particularly in comparison to their standard system), unfortunately we have no control over this.

To begin an application please either contact us with the items you wish to purchase, or place an order on the website and select Humm as the payment method. We will then send you an email to get the details required to make an application, at which point we will email you a copy of the contract. You will then need to email us a copy of the following:

  • Drivers License (front and back)
  • ID Verification Form (which we provide by email)
  • Payslip(s)
  • Utility Bill
  • Bank Statement (showing 2 most recent months of transactions)

If you are unable to provide all these documents there may be some room for modification, ultimately it is up to Humm as we simply forward the documents on to them for verification purposes. Once they have verified everything (which typically takes 1-2 business days) we can proceed with the order.

What is Humm Big Things?
Humm Big Things allows you take home your purchase while making convenient fortnightly direct debit payments. It is a continuing credit payment plan that lets you purchase goods or services today, by paying an initial deposit, with the remaining balance being conveniently direct debited fortnightly. Best of all there is No Interest Ever! Please refer to the “Terms and Conditions” in store for further details.

What are the set up fees and charges for a Humm payment plan?
When you make your initial purchase, Humm will open a Continuous Credit Account for you. With this initial purchase, you will pay an establishment fee between $35 and $90 to set up your Account, which is payable over the term of the purchase. The account will provide you access to online information about your purchase(s), credit schedule(s), available credit, access to their 1800 customer call in facility and enquiry page and other benefits. There is a monthly account keeping fee of $8 which will be direct debited whilst your account remains active.

What do I need to apply for a payment plan?
- To be over 18 years of age and be a permanent resident of Australia
- To be employed on a Full-Time basis working a minimum of 30 hours per week or to hold an Aged or Veterans Pensioner
- To have a bank account or credit card in your name with the ability to show documentation showing proof of ownership

How long does the application take?
The application can be done over the phone, by email, or in store and generally takes about 10 minutes. Then once all verification documents have been provided Humm takes approximately a further 1-2 business days.

Can I make multiple purchases?
Yes, additional transactions are possible as your available credit increases in line with the repayment calculation detailed within the “Terms and Conditions”. Your online account enables you to keep track of your available credit as you make repayments. An additional purchase fee of $22 is payable over the purchase repayment period for additional purchases.

Can I pay my continuing credit account out early?
Yes. You can payout the outstanding balance of the continuing credit account inclusive of any fees and charges on any day you wish. Your available credit will remain active for a period of up to 12 months. Ongoing account keeping fees will apply while your continuing credit account is active. You can re-draw from the available credit for additional purchases at any time while your continuing credit account remains active.

Once your purchase(s) have been paid in full and your account balance is zero, you can cancel via written notice to Humm using your online account. There are NO additional fees for closing your Account or paying out early.

If I pay a deposit, am I guaranteed approval?
No, which is why Best Deal 4 U does not take a deposit from Humm customers until the payment plan is approved.
